State Budget Preview

Good Afternoon, Information is beginning to trickle out ahead of the Governor’s Budget address today at 2:00. We have received preliminary information that Charity Care will remain at last year’s level. It is unclear, at this point, the fate of the other healthcare funding streams. I will keep you posted as things develop. Neil

CNA Ratio Bill Being Held Tomorrow

The CNA ratio bill will not be approved tomorrow in committee. There is still a desire by the sponsors to work out a deal by the end of the lame duck session. We will keep you all apprised and engaged. Thanks Neil

Good Morning, Just a brief recap on the state elections from last night: - Republican Mike Testa ousted incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Andrzejczak - Assembly Republicans will gain as many as four seats. 1) Both seats District 1 2) Both seats District 2 (not yet confirmed) - Minority leader Jon Bramnick and running mate Nancy Munoz held off challengers in district 21 - Republican incumbent Ryan Peters and Republican Jean Stanfield beat democratic challengers in district 8 - A ...


Governor Murphy signs budget

As expected, Governor Murphy signed the SFY2020 budget. While the Governor line-item vetoed some of the legislature’s increases, the $7M in CC funding and $30M for NHs remained in the budget. However, Governor Murphy is withholding $235M in spending until the legislature’s revenue projections are realized. It is unclear if healthcare funding will be included in this proposal. Good Morning, As the Assembly and Senate prepare for their final legislative session day before the break, Governor Murphy announced that he is hosting a budget press conference this Sunday afternoon. This likely means no action will be taken on the budget before then. Njha will be on hand to report on the Governor’s actions and follow-up by the legislature. As I hear more information will share.
